Family and friends of Kimberly Dougherty are trying to raise money to help her get the care and medicines she needs! Please help!

Kimberly is a mother of 7 children. 5 of who still live at home. 5 years ago she took on the responsibility of raising her husband's 3 children all of who have special needs. This past year she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease. She was due to go in for Kidney Biopsies to see how fast her disease is progressing, when the state expired her medicaid. Without insurance she has not been able to get the medical care she needs or her medications. Along with her Kidney Disease, she has high blood pressure, poorly controlled asthma, borderline diabetic,Hematuria, Proteinuria and Edema (she swells horribly in her legs and feet making it impossible for her to be on her feet for any extended period of time.) As a result she has not been able to work. Friday, July 8th she was admitted into the hospital for pneumonia, they thought it would be just for overnight but now it's Monday the 11th and she is still there. Yesterday they repeated the x-ray and found she has Atelectasis in her other lung. All she is worried about is how this is impacting everyone else in the family and keeps apologizing. So far she has surpassed $20,000 in medical expenses. Our family needs help desperately. He has had to leave her by herself at the hospital so he can go to work. Please help this family...She is stuck between a rock and a hard place, trying to file for disability to help but without being able to get the biopsies done, it is making it extremely difficult.

UPDATE: Tuesday July 12, still in the hospital, changed some of her meds, don't know when she is getting out. Will probably have a lung proficiency test done today. The steroids are making her really puffy in the face. Please keep praying!

UPDATE: Friday July 15th. Hospital was making me depressed and so tired not being able to sleep, so convinced Drs I was ready to leave. It still hurts to breathe in deeply, and I get winded just walking across the living room. They gave me a ton of prescriptions, one of them being $600 a month. So much for Walmart's $4 list. They decided on top of my asthma I have COPD. All these years and I always took breathing for granted, like it would be so natural, something that you didn't have to think about, you just did it. I am not even 40 yet and my body feels like it wants to shut down. We went over the $40,000 in bills, but I promised my family that I will go back if I still don't get better being home. I'm just so damn tired.....
