As Thanksgiving weekend 2014 wrapped up, the Shepherd family was presented with the devastating news that their sweet Henry's knee pain was actually a cancer called Osteosarcoma.

This type of cancer will present Henry and the Shepherd family with many difficult challenges physically, emotionally and financially for many years to come. The Shepherds have found themselves putting their former lives on hold and are living a "new normal" including multiple rounds of chemotherapy, medical procedures, surgeries and regular trips to Atlanta and Jacksonville.

Now is the time to honor "Henry Our Hero" with this opportunity of paying it forward. With your contribution, the struggles that he will endure can be a little less difficult. The Shepherd family is fortunate to have insurance to help pay the medical costs for Henry's treatments. However, as you can imagine, insurance will not cover all of Henry's needs in the present and in the future. This is a marathon that Henry is running, not a sprint. There will be years of medical bills, physical therapy sessions, and prosthesis fittings. With your help this financial burden can be alleviated, allowing Henry to move forward and do many "heroic" things in the years to come.
