This is Michelle Motsko's Breast Cancer Fund. The funds will be used for Michelle's medical costs not covered by insurance.
Well, it has been a little over a year since I found out I have (had?) breast cancer. I have faced this thing head-on very aggressively. I began with a double mastectomy followed by six rounds of chemotherapy. Now the hair is growing back and my fingernails have healed. The neuropathy from that last round is gone. Things are trying to be “normal”. I have found that I now have a new “normal”. I have to look at it like that.I can only hope and pray that it is gone for good and if not, that I will be prepared to deal with it if it rears its ugly head again in the future. Not that anyone is ever truly “prepared” for a cancer diagnosis. On top of the horror of breast cancer, my husband John had to have an emergency spine surgery four days after my surgery. He then contracted an infection at the surgery site and was bedridden for six weeks while receiving intravenous medication daily. So we were "sick" together... The next step is to try and pay off the remaining debt from my previous treatment and raise the funds needed for my next surgery. Unfortunately insurance only covered so much, therefore, I am asking for help to raise the difference. I am grateful for you taking the time to read this whether you are able to donate or not. If you are able to donate, please remember that no amount is too small. It all adds up, so thank you! May God bless and keep you, MIchelle
