Our 10 month old Puppy needs YOUR help. She has severe Hip Dysplasia. We need $3000 more do the first hip. Can you help?

Izzy was rescued from the Yukon by an amazing Rescue Society called Turtle Gardens in Topley BC, Canada. We adopted her at 4 months old. She is the perfect puppy for our family. Her favourite thing is to snuggle with us at night time and she loves our little girl.

At 6 months of age we took Izzy to be spayed but her pre-anaesthetic blood work came back with serious results. She has Thrombocytopenia, a condition where blood platelets become too low, but she wasn't showing any clinical symptoms. Our Vet ruled out everything that could have caused it. The cause was unknown. The news scared us, but we were thankful that Izzy seemed healthy and happy. There was a chance the blood platelets could become normal again, so we decided to wait for the results of another blood test in a few months’ time.

Over the weeks we noticed Izzy was getting quite stiff in her hind legs after a long walk or had trouble climbing into the car. Intermittently she showed signs of pain when her legs were touched. We decided to have x-rays performed while checking her blood levels. Once again, we received serious news. Izzy also has a severe case of Hip dysplasia - an abnormal formation of the hip socket which can eventually cause crippling lameness and painful arthritis of the joints. Izzy is only 10 months old. The best thing for her is Total Hip Replacement. This surgery is performed in Vancouver, BC. The cost is over $5000 per hip, and due to the Thrombocytopenia, she will need blood plasma for transfusion.  This will also be the safest opportunity to have her spayed.  The success rate is high and Izzy could live a long, pain free, normal life. Please help us... please donate to Izzy's New Hips.

Thank you,

The Ellis Family
