The family and friends of Jeanne Gendron are raising money to help her battle breast cancer.

Over 45 million Americans do not have health insurance - until a few days ago, Jeanne was one of them. Her recent breast cancer diagnosis meant that family and friends had to scramble to help her find access to affordable healthcare. Fortunately, just two weeks before she is to undergo surgery, she jumped through some hoops and qualified for the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan, which means much of her treatment will be covered. However, there will still be many expenses and co-pays over the course of the next year for her surgery, chemo therapy treatments, and medications. Unfortunately, the Gendron family is no stranger to the medical system. Call it bad luck, but they have been dealt what seems an unfair number of illnesses and injuries over the years. Jeanne's husband, Kim, has had numerous surgeries on his knees and back to treat past injuries, as well as emergency medical treatment for a heart condition in recent years. Jeanne's oldest son, Isaac, is a childhood cancer survivor. In 1993 at the age of 13 he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease. He went through extensive treatment at the Mayo Clinic in MN, and to this day has been cancer free. This year, Jeanne's son-in-law Brett suffered a major brain aneurysm at just 26 years old, and was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic where a team of neurologists was able to stabilize him, provide treatment, and save his life. And, most recently, Jeanne's daughter Katie is suffering from pancreatitis and is in the hospital receiving treatment just weeks before Jeanne will go in for surgery. Knowing they were able to battle previous illness and disease, Jeanne has the right attitude to take on cancer and beat it. She has spent her entire life taking care of others and dedicating her life to her children, family, and friends. Now it's time for all of us to give back to her. Although she is strong, she cannot do this alone. Please consider a donation to help equip her to save her life.
