In loving memory of Daniel H. Lucas Born on August 6th, 1948 in Lima, Ohio Passed away on Thursday June 14th, 2012.

Dan and Ellen Lucas have chosen two charitable agencies for donations in lieu of flowers.

Please feel free to choose one of the two suggested charities listed below or one of your own choosing.

MARICOPA HEALTH FOUNDATION

Dan expressed gratitude on multiple occasions for his access to comprehensive health insurance covering multiple medical expenses. He also verbalized dismay at the plight of others who are not as fortunate.

Therefore, Dan and Ellen request a donation in lieu of flowers be directed to patients in need at Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) through the Maricopa Health Foundation.

Your donation to the Foundation will be placed in the Chief Medical Officer's fund, and used to help uninsured patients of MIHS with their medical copayments, deductibles and other medical expenses.

Click the GIVE NOW button to make a gift in memory of Dan, and help uninsured patients of MIHS receive the healthcare they need.

ARIZONA HUMANE SOCIETY

Dan and Ellen both love their pets and have rescued and cared for multiple animals. In lieu of flowers, they would appreciate a donation to continue the efforts of the Arizona Humane Society in the promotion of animal welfare.

In Loving Memory of Daniel H. Lucas

Dan spent his 63 years searching for and finding happiness and laughter in all he did. He grew up listening to The Beatles and remained a lifelong fan. He met a woman who completed him, and he shared the rest of his life with her. Their love took them from Ohio to Arizona and around the world. He spent his idle time exploring the countryside on one of his motorcycles. His work allowed him the opportunity to help and touch people from all walks of life. But his success in business paled in comparison to the joy he experienced in being a grandparent to his grandchildren. And, his grandchildren adored him.

Dan was tested by a life shortened due to disease, but was extremely grateful for the time he was given. He had all that he wanted, he laughed far more than he cried, and he left this world with no regrets. In the end, knowing his time was short, Dan was able to be surrounded by the people that loved him most. His smile and companionship will be missed by all that knew him.

Dan’s legacy will be defined by his loved ones….his loving wife, two sons, his 89 year old father, two younger brothers, and five grandchildren who are all very proud of the man that he was and the life he led.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother Datha and his brother Larry, and is survived by his wife Ellen, his two sons Chad (Jennifer) and Bart (Misty), his father Jay (Lillian), his brothers Robert (Elise) and Randy (Sandy), and five grandchildren.
