Donations for Debbie will be used for Debbie's living expenses and medical costs during this time that she isn't able to work.

My mother, Debbie, is battling a severe MRSA staph infection. In October of last year she had a lumpectomy performed and several months later begin to show signs of an infection. It took the doctors several months to determine what was going on. By that point, the infection had taken over her entire breast. The only option at that point was surgery to try to clean out the infection.

She now has a drainage tube in her breast and is on heavy antibiotics. She works for a surgery center and because she is positive for a staph infection she is unable to work. She is a single woman, living alone, now without an income. Her medical and living expenses are becoming to much to carry on her own without income.

In a few weeks she may be facing a mastectomy because the doctors feel her breast may not be able to be salvaged. If this happens, she will be out of work for even longer.

Please help my mother by making a donation. Even the smallest amount is appreciated! With the aid of friends, family and strangers at least the stress of her finances won't be so great during this time.

**UPDATE**: May 11, 2011
My mother had an appointment yesterday with a doctor of infectious disease. He told her that her infection in her breast is a severe chronic infection that will likely never go away. The only solution is to remove her breast. She has an appointment in a week with a surgeon. She is now going to be out of work even longer now that she has to have a mastectomy.
