We have established this fundraiser to help send Noah K. to England and France as a Student Ambassador in Summer 2011.

Noah, a sixth grade student at the Gillette Road Middle School, has been nominated as one of a select group of area students to participate in a life-changing opportunity, traveling to England and France through the People to People Student Ambassador Program for 2 weeks next Summer. This is a national program established by President Dwight Eisenhower. In order to participate, Noah will need to raise his tuition money, which will pay for airfare, food, lodging and educational activities.

Noah has a 96 average in school, is enrolled in the Talented and Gifted Program in school and is a skilled pianist. His favorite subject is Social Studies and he enjoys learning about geography, cultures and history. He just won the National Geographic Geography Bee through his middle school (out of 1,200 students).
He has been involved in various charities such as Project Children, Pug Rescue, Greyhound Outreach, and volunteering/meeting with Sudanese refugees. He also served at the Samaritan Center on Christmas to feed the hungry. In his 5 years as a Cub Scout, Noah was a strong supporter of his Pack, raising more than $5,000 in popcorn sales.

As a person living with Asperger's Syndrome, a high-functioning form of Autism, Noah has overcome social obstacles, becoming more involved in his community through volunteer work, performing on stage, and making friends. To participate in this program with 40 students from throughout the Central New York area would be a true gift, allowing him to see many of the places he has read about in books. This trip would be something special for him, and would also allow him to learn how to be more independent as he grows and matures.

Please consider making a donation to help Noah achieve this amazing opportunity! We are also looking for local businesses to help sponsor his trip. He appreciates any and all support.
