Nick has Asperger Syndrome and learning disabilities. The iPad could help him immensely.

I'm definitely not one who feels me or my kids have to have the latest and the best gadgets every time a new one comes out. In fact we own no Wii or XBox or Playstation. My son has no cell phone or computer of his own.
This is actually the first thing I've ever really wanted to give my son. Purely for the educational benefits.
You see, my son has Asperger Syndrome (with ODD and ADHD tendencies), but he does very well with behavior and communication. He has a large vocabulary and seems very intelligent. But he has quite a few learning disabilities. Still at age 9, capital and lower case letters, telling time, and most math completely elude him. Although he now writes the letters correctly, he still write numbers backwards. Formatting his writing is a constant struggle. Spelling is a nightmare, and he has tested above 40% only once so far this year.
Right now we rely on finding videos on YouTube for extra learning material.
From what I'm hearing, the applications that are available for the iPad could help him immensely. I'd really like to see if this could help.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can find it in their heart to help Nick out. And thank you to those who took the time to at least think about it.

Nick's mom,
Teri
