We provide high school basketball players with the chance to reach their full potential academically and athletically. We are raising money to give these student-athletes proper preparation for college. We want them to succeed in college and beyond.

In January 2010, Dana O'Neil wrote an article about the Haskell Indian School Basketball team. In the article, O'Neil observed that only 5 out of over 5,000 Division 1 Basketball players are Native American. Two of the people that read this article were Braxton Redeagle and Christien Crynes. They saw the need and wanted to make a change. The two former high school teammates discussed the problem and brainstormed solutions. While, discussing, the two realized that across the country, many high school basketball players fail to reach the collegiate level because of a lack of preparation and a lack of exposure. Braxton and Christien decided to create a program that could combat this problem. The program that was created is the Oklahoma Assault Basketball Program. The goal of the program is to create a summer basketball team that spans a variety of cultures and gives high school basketball players the academic training and basketball exposure necessary for them to be able to attend the college or university of their choice. Oklahoma Assault plans to bring their team to top tournaments throughout the summer, so that the players can improve by playing against top quality competition. They also will take their athletes through a college preparatory program called the College Gameplan, which gives the students SAT/ACT preparation, as well as lessons in professional development, such as interviewing tips and building resumes. OK Assault wants to provide these services to its players for free, something that is extremely uncommon, as college preparation programs and summer basketball are often quite expensive. This means that the program needs funds raised to cover uniforms, tournaments, travel, and college preparation workshops. Generous donations have already been made by Wilson Pipestem, Ron Mucci, and the Pawhuska 5 Man Board. The money donated can cover uniforms and 5 tournaments. We still need to raise funds to pay for travel, nationals, and to fully fund our college preparation workshops. Can we count on your help?
