Hi, my name is Lisa. My 22 year old son Matt has been battling MS. Please help him receive a stem cell transplant to free him from this MS.

Hello, my name is Lisa. My 22 year old son has been battling Multiple Sclerosis, a degenerative nerve disease, for two years. It is the nature of the disease to have relapses and remissions however, Matt has lived the past two years never fully in remission. This year alone he has been in the hospital four times. The longer the relapses last the more chance he has of having permanent nerve damage and permanent loss of function. Conventional treatments are not working and after much research and testimonials from other patients we believe stem cell transplantation to offer the most hope at giving Matt a better, healthier and happier future.

When Matt was diagnosed with MS two years ago he made a choice to document and share his experience in hopes to help others also coping with MS by creating a blog and an online support group ( I am so proud of my son for being so open and honest about his experience. His online support group has members from all over the world and all age groups. It has helped my son, as well as many other MS sufferers, have a place they can go to talk to other people who really understand what they are going through. He has so much more he wants to do for the MS community when his health allows him to. We hope a stem cell transplant will allow him to reclaim his life from this disease and be able to move forward to do all the things he hasn’t been able to do since the onset of MS and so much more.

Watching my son go from an active energetic young man making plans for his future to a young man who can’t walk without a cane, can’t drive from vision loss, in pain every day and exhausted who questions what kind of future awaits him has been the most difficult for me as a mother. Matt, my husband and I hope that a stem cell transplant can give him a chance to live his life free from these burdens. From my heart to yours, I thank you for all and any help you can give, even if it’s just a few seconds of your time to help spread the word. Thank you.
