Family and friends of Alicia Pusczek are pulling together to help her fight this long battle of bone cancer. This is just the beginning...

The date of Oct. 23, 2012 changed our lives forever. Our daughter, Alicia Marie Pusczek, was diagnosed with bone cancer. It was discovered in her right femur as she was getting it x-rayed because of off and on pain. The Dr. at the urgent care said she needed to get to St. John's and have an MRI done. That was on Oct. 15,2012. Within 7 days, our thoughts of Alicia having a strained muscle or something minor like that causing her pain, went to a family that is battling cancer first hand. She has a cancer known as Ewing's Sarcoma, one of the most rare and aggressive kinds of cancer. As I'm writing this, we are still waiting for the biopsy to tell us how far along it is and if it's anywhere else, but at this moment, it is just in her leg. Once all the results come back we will know how much chemo she will receive and how often. Then in a few months, hopefully her body takes to it enough so she can have surgery to remove some if not most of the tumor, which is spreading up her leg. Then she will have more treatments and hopefully get rid of this horrible disease for good. As far as we know, insurance will cover most of it but from these donations, we will be able to get her anything else she needs to stay comfortable through these rough times. I want to thank all the people who are there for us and who will be there for Alicia through this trying time. Please check this link for frequent updates on her condition and join her page...
