The family and friend of Amanda Higgins are uniting to raise money to help with medical bills and living expenses while recovering.

UPDATE/ 7/28/2012:  Amanda had a 2nd surgery this week to try and reattach her retina, and repair other damage.  Amanda has no lens, and no iris left (colored part of your eye), and a damaged cornea. So, right now we are just trying to save the eye itself, and Mandy will then have a permanent opaque artificial lens put over the eye in the future or the eye will be removed.  Amanda also has a broken orbital socket and facial bones. She will have additional surgeries in the future to fix that as well.

Please help offset/assist with medical/daily living expenses to alleviate the financial burden. To help Amanda Higgins. Amanda suffered a serious trauma to her left eye during a home accident on her 25th birthday. Amanda was rushed to Harborview Hospital where she was taken into surgery to try and save her left eye. Amanda has had two surgeries in the past two weeks and will need to have at least two to three more surgeries to hopefully save the eye. She will also need to have a surgery to repair her eye socket which was also broken in the accident. Amanda is a beautiful wonderful, young woman whom is very active. Loves to be outside with her boyfriend Doug and their dog Cain. She has been working as a Dental Assistant in Bellevue for the past two years. She loves her job and what she does. Her Doctors and staff miss her very much and look forward to when she can come back to work. Amanda will have months of adjusting to driving, reading and doing her job with the sight of only one eye. Something we all take for granted. Please help Amanda with either a donation or by leaving her a message. Thank you for all of your support and continuing prayers.
