This is Zeb's Fund for Zeb Yarborough-Patrikios and his family. The funds raised here will be used for Zeb's medical costs and ongoing care.

UPDATE: Zeb's birthday was March 12th. We had ordered a Walkin Wheels dog wheelchair for him but it wasn't supposed to arrive for a few more days. But it arrived early on his birthday! Once he got used to it, he took off running. I don't know who was happier - him or us. Thanks again for everyone's help!

We appreciate any donation! Our $6500 (and increasing) bill is quite daunting, so even if you can give $10 - every donation is important to us and every dollar gets us that much closer to our goal. Thank you!!

Zeb a is loving, easy going miniature schnauzer who recently suffered an injury to his spine and kidneys. He has been left paralyzed from the waist down and will require long-term management and care. While we never questioned for one second not getting him the care he required, we are now facing over $6,500 in medical costs. Zeb will also have ongoing costs for his routine care and eventually we would like to provide him with a dog cart (average cost $300-$400) to supply a better quality of life. Although very hard to ask for help, our love for Zeb and hope to give him the best life possible creates this need for assistance and we will so appreciate your gift.

Zeb was found through a mission I volunteered on 6 years ago with the North Carolina Schnauzer Rescue (NCSR) to rescue 26 abandoned schnauzers in Supply, NC. The group could only take home as many dogs as we had foster homes for. I already had 5 dogs (2 taken on from family members) and had no intention of adopting any more. But one look at Zeb and I couldn't leave him behind and agreed to foster him. Two weeks later when they found him a home, I broke down in tears to the head of the rescue group and said I couldn't bear to part with him. She understood and let me adopt him. He's been an integral part of my family ever since.

Zeb is an awesome dog. His favorite thing to do was run outside and dig holes (our yard is covered with them). He liked to climb trees and had a bad habit in the spring of catching birds mid-flight. This ordeal has been heartbreaking. We don't care how this changes our daily life, but it tears me apart to know how it has changed his. He doesn't understand why he can no longer run or climb trees and there's nothing I can do to make it better for him. All we can do is love him with all we have and make his life as easy and as enjoyable as it is in our power to do so. Thank you so much for helping our Zebbie.
