The Kindergarten students in Room 2 will greatly benefit in their learning through this interactive board. Thank you for any donations!

In Kindergarten, hands-on learning is monumental to student success. I am proposing a grant that will allow my classroom to utilize a Promethean ActivBoard 587 Mobile Series to allow the children an interactive approach to learning concepts in: language arts, math, social studies, and science. I am also the instructional facilitator for my grade level so I will have the opportunity to work with 4 special needs students in my room full day and this board will provide the students with special needs additional support.

The Promethean ActivBoard 587 can be used during whole group lessons, small group lessons, and during center time. The children will have the opportunity to be auditorally, visually, and kinesthetically involved in their learning as I teach the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. What a better way for a 5 year old to learn than to "touch", "hear", and be "visually" engaged with a board that promotes all three!

At this time, my school does not have access to this board. However, I do have the CD-Roms that go with it, but no way of using the discs other than on a desk-top computer. I would love to broadcast it on this board to make it interactive; the way it is supposed to be.

I will purchase this item should this grant be funded. At this time, the amount for the board, the boom (sound system) and the installation is $6,000. Technology is utilized in my room in the form of: IPads, ITouches, Slate Boards, and Web 2.0 applications, so I can assure you that should this grant be funded, the Promethean board will be utilized everyday in various ways.

Thank you for your consideration in funding an opportunity that will allow a 5 year the capability to be truly mesmorized by learning! What a fun classroom opportunity this would be and what a wonderful way to make learning "active".
