Brent's friends and family are uniting to raise support to help cover some of the medical expenses so Brent can get the treatment he needs.

Brent was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma Esophageal Cancer in August 2011. Brent had begun having trouble swallowing and was sent for an Endoscopy on August 2nd. The results rocked our family. Cancer. The monster we all fear was now terrorizing our family, shaking us to our core. They discover that the tumor is 2 ½ inches on the outside of his esophagus as well as sitting on his stomach. His ability to eat began to rapidly decline. He was down to just soups and liquids. Eventually he did have to have a feeding tube put in. He has begun the grueling Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments needed to shrink the tumor before he can have surgery to remove the monster that is ravaging his body. He will need 2-3 doses of Chemo; it will be 1 week on 4 weeks off each time, and 5 weeks of Radiation. Then of course they will reevaluate and decide if he needs more or if surgery will be the next step in our battle.

Brent has been married to Jeanie for 34 years and they have 3 kids together; Trista, Taylor and Trenton, 2 son-in-laws; Franklin and Mitch and 5.5 grandkids; Ariel, Joel, Zipporah, Emma, Eliora and Baby coming in October. Brent is a Stone Mason and Bricklayer by trade and the soul breadwinner of the household. He cannot work at all during his treatment. Jeanie is spending her days taking care of the patient and cannot work either. I know this is a burden for them. They have a high deductable and treatment is expensive. They also have the cost of driving to the hospital each day, paying for the daily “formula” he needs to keep the strength to fight, and the cost of supplies and medicine that come along with the monster and no income coming in. With Brent in the battle for his life and the mounting bills he is worrying about the bills on not focusing on the real fight. We cannot take the monster on for him but we can help him focus on winning this battle by helping take the added stress in his life. We can never solicit enough prayers for him either. It encourages him to see he has support even if it is kind message.
