Family and friends of Denise LuongoTarchine are uniting to raise money for medical expenses and related expenses not covered by insurance.

Denise is 39 years old and in February of this year, doctors found tumors on her lower spine, which they diagnosed as Large B-cell Lymphoma. She had surgery to remove what they could of the tumors, but they were so entangled in nerves they only were able to remove a portion of them. Since then, she developed nerve damage in her leg and foot. Thereafter, Denise began an intense chemotherapy treatement to ensure the cancer does not spread to spinal cord or into her nervous system. Treatement has included several overnight stays at Sloan Kettering in Manhattan as well as intense treatments locally. The days are long and sometimes very painful while she struggles to fight this disease.

Denise has remained positive and strong because of the love of her life, her nine year old daughter Samantha, with whom the sun rises and sets with. She is a single mother raising "Sam", while working full-time for a company that works with children with disabilities. Since being diagnosed and undergoing treatment, Denise has not been able to work. She has always prided herself in being independent and always willing to help others, now that she needs help, she finds it difficult to ask, specially for financial help.

Denise looks forward to recovery to resume her active life with her daughter. She always was actively engaged in "Sam's" life, but there are days now that she's just too tired. Family and friends have been there to help, which words cannot express Denise's gratitude.

Recently, test results showed that the treatment was working, but it is not over yet. She now begins radiation treatment for 5 weeks. Financial contributions will help ease the financial debt that is mounting from being out of work and expenses that related to her treatment that insurance does not cover.

All your contributions, thoughts, and especially prayers are very much appreciated!!!
