Merry Celeste needs your help! She is in a battle for her life! Please watch my short You Tube video to hear her story.

URGENT: My sister Merry Celeste Donovan was shockingly diagnosed with late stage colon cancer, had emergency surgery several weeks ago, and is in a battle for her life. She has already begun chemotherapy, as this cancer is invasive and aggressive. If you know Merry, you know that she is a strong remarkable woman. If you know Merry, she has probably already touched your life! Now is the time to help ease her pain. Help her conquer this dreadful disease and gift what you can. Please watch my short You Tube video* Click on blue arrow on the left to play now! (Or via the link below photos) Merry appreciates all of the outpouring of love and prayers sent her way. She would not ask for anything more herself. So I am asking. In a nutshell: She needs financial help. Merry--mother of four, hard-working substitute postal carrier, artist, writer, musician--was spread thin, living pay check to pay check, and did not have health insurance. Now she is too ill to work. This has limited her options for, well, literally everything she needs now. EVERY dollar truly counts. You will be helping one beautiful spirit with so many essential things—from pain management and treatment, to helping build a wheelchair ramp, to keeping the electricity and heat on for another month. Any dollar amount will make a huge cumulative difference in the quality of her life right now.

Alanna Donovan, Merry's daughter, left her personal life and work behind in California, to fly to Michigan and become Merry's full-time caregiver, cook, driver, nurse, physical therapist, and main support person. She and family members, are handling Merry's day-to-day affairs, so that Merry can stay strong and focus on treatment and healing and not have the burden of continued financial pressures. For instance, on the way to her first chemo, with Alanna driving Merry's old car with close to 200K miles on it, the car broke down on a hill. Luckily good samaritans in the truck behind them, jumped out and pushed it to safety. A few days later it broke down again. A sympathetic local mechanic took a family member's credit card over the phone, and got it on the road again. Merry's 15-year-old beloved husky Onyx is ill and needs medication.  There is no good time to have cancer period. There is no good time be forced to fight for your life while struggling to pay for every little thing.

If you "like" and follow Merry's journey on our FACEBOOK page: http://www.facebook.com/MerryCelesteFanClub, we will keep you updated there. "Liking", in and of itself, will help share her story and be a welcomed contribution. Share the video. Share this website. Adorn her with positive comments. Encourage. Love. And, most of all spread the word, and give forward!

With gratitude and grace, I embrace your generosity and thank you on behalf of my beautiful sister Merry and our appreciative family. Happy Holidays! Much Love and Merriment. Lin Jakary

* The pennywhistle you hear on the You Tube video is Merry Celeste playing the traditional Irish song "The Cup of Tea." Merry has been heavily involved in the Irish Music community both sitting in on sessions as a musician, and also participating in Irish set dancing. She made three trips to Ireland over the years, and studied with a master luthier. The song clip at the end of the video features Merry's daughter Alanna Donovan singing, "Me and Mom," (words and music: Lin Jakary) For more about Merry's life and work, you can visit her website: www.danceofheaven.com
