Help us save our German Shepherd Bella who was recently injured in a hit and run. The funds will be used to cover her mounting medical bill.

On May 9th 2012, our family dog Bella was the victim of a hit and run on the street in front of our house. The person who hit her couldn't even be bothered to stop and see if she was ok. Thankfully we were there at the time, and were able to rush her to the emergency pet hospital.

Amongst the deep cuts and scrapes, Bella suffered a dislocated hip. The doctors also noted that there was a marked amount of blood in her urine and possible internal damage or hairline fractures that cannot yet be detected. These injuries require several nights of hospital stays, frequent pain management injections, IV fluids, a catheter and surgery to repair the damage to her hip.

Even after repairing the hip, Bella is not out of the woods. We were told that there is almost a 50% chance her hip will need additional surgeries and possibly even rehabilitation. She may be crippled for life. Because of the amount of blood in her urine, the damage to her bladder may be so severe that it will rupture. Without proper funding, Bella will not get the medical services she needs to survive this trauma.

We have spent all of our savings and maxed out our Care Credit just to get her through the night, but the continued build of overwhelming medical expenses force euthanization to be a possibility of our only option. With financial assistance, Bella has a much more optimistic chance of surviving. Bella’s injuries can be repaired; it just takes the money to get her there. Please help return our dog to us.
