Raising money for my wife Amy, who has a debilitating disease called RSD/CRPS. Funds needed for treatment expenses.

Amy's Story:

Amy has Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy which is also called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or RSD/CRPS for short. I love her dearly and will move heaven and earth to find the help she needs.

RSD/CRPS is ranked as the most painful form of chronic pain that exists today by the McGill Pain Index. Amy has endured this terrible disease going on 3 years now. Although we didn't realize it at the time, she contracted the disease from a dental procedure where they take bone from your tibia for grafting material. Her pain progressed to the point where she could only walk for short periods of time. She then underwent two major knee surgeries to try to fix the problem. That was over 10 months ago and she has not walked without a walker since.

After the knee surgeries her surgeon referred her to a neurologist where she was properly diagnosed with RSD/CRPS. After being diagnosed she has undergone numerous procedures such as spinal nerve blocks and has tried a number of medications with no results. The procedures have not helped the pain at all and the medications have caused serious side effects such as memory loss, blurred vision, fast heartbeat and a general feeling of malaise. She has undergone and continues to undergo intensive physical therapy.

She has multiple appointments every single week with physical therapy and doctors, with some weeks having an appointment every single day. It takes all her effort and energy to deal with this disease and there has been little improvement and little hope for the future. To this day she still cannot bear weight on her leg and spends much of her time in a wheelchair, a walker or bed ridden. Amy has lost friends and family members who cannot cope with or understand her disease. Having a disease that most cannot comprehend is a lonely place to be.

There are some very promising treatments that have shown remarkable results for others in Amy's condition that we need to pursue so that Amy along with her family can lead a fulfilling life once again and be happy again. She deserves this, as well as her two young daughters deserve to have their fun loving mother back. These treatments are self pay and expensive.

With your help our goals are for Amy to walk once again, drive once again and be able to live without the severe ongoing pain she now experiences. To be able to do the little things that most take for granted such as washing her hair and taking a bath without help. To put on her own socks, shoes and clothes without experiencing pain and having her clothes feel like sandpaper against her skin. To be able to leave the house or even get into a car without help. Just to be able to enjoy life with her young daughters and husband.

Please give as much as you can afford so that I can have my wife back. Thank you very much. Please spread this link to everyone you can to get Amy the help she needs.
