Jane's family and friends are joining together to raise money to help her fight back against breast cancer, and all the medical bills!
Jane Korpela works for Anoka-Hennepin School District 11 at S.T.E.P. High School. She works with students with disabilities, helping them learn job skills. She also works part time at a group home, assisting adults with disabilities remain independent in their home. She has been an active member of the Anoka community for the past 20+ years. She has lead neighborhood clean up initiatives, volunteered at school functions, served the community through her local church, including homeless families through Family Promise of Anoka, and helped her community in many other ways. Jane has spent her life caring for others, showing kindness to everyone and helping those in need. She has a beautiful spirit and has touched the lives of many people in her work and in the community.
In July 2012, Jane was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer. She underwent a bi-lateral mastectomy and is currently receiving aggressive chemotherapy treatments. When she has successfully completed all of her chemotherapy, she will then receive radiation treatments.
Throughout the past six months, Jane's priority has been fighting breast cancer. Due to the fatigue, illness and weakened immune system that accompany chemotherapy, Jane has not been able to consistently work her full-time job, and is on leave from her part-time job. For all the good Jane has done throughout her life, it's our turn to give to her. Join Jane's team of support and let her know you have her back! She is so grateful for all the prayers and support!
