Wheels for Robert! These funds will be put towards purchasing a modified wheelchair van.

My fiance Robert Kocher is 28 years old and was diagnosed with Beckers Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 12. This disease affects his skeletal muscles and as a result he has slowly lost his ability to walk and is now bound to a power wheelchair. Robert is a father to a wonderful little boy named Brayden, and has also taken myself and my son as his own. This man has come so far in his struggle for normalcy and the ability to be as independent as he can. Every day could be seen as a struggle but since being with this wonderful man I have learned the value of the little things. I have never seen someone smile so much in my life and make me appreciate every given moment.
The largest obstacle in our path right now is transportation. We are in desperate need if a modified vehicle that will allow us to get to doctor appointments and even to visit family. At the moment we have an '99 Chevy Venture that is on its last leg. Even then, I must pick Robert up myself and transition him to the front seat of the van. We have metal ramps that then have to be unfolded and laid on the back door so that I can drive his wheelchair into the back of the van. After I have loaded Robert, the wheelchair, and my son we are then able to go on to our destination. Weather such as rain makes even a trip to the grocery store difficult.
With your donations we will finally be able to get the vehicle we need that will allow with only a few touches of a button to go where ever we need with ease and peace of mind. Every penny counts and we greatly appreciate anything you can give. Thank you!
