Help us get Daddy here to visit during the holidays.

Allison is seven years old and was diagnosed with Prader-willi syndrome as an infant. Pws is caused by a micro-deletion on her 15th chromosome. There is no cure. Throughout her life she has had many of the typical struggles of Prader-willi syndrome such as an
Insatiable appetite, low muscle tone, sleep apnea, high pain tolerance and a very slow metabolism. In October of last year a new part of the syndrome kicked in. Our sweet little girl lost all control of her behavior. She has no impulse control and cannot regulate her emotions. She has become violent and aggressive and spends most of her day either asleep or in a psychotic state. In November of last year we learned about The Children's Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. We waited for a bed here for 10 months. We arrived in Pittsburgh on September 1 and initially was expected to stay eight weeks. During the ten weeks we have been here Allison's condition has gotten worse and now it is indefinite how long we will be here. Because Allison is so young I will not leave her in Pittsburgh alone. I am here with her along with her 18 month old sister Claire. Claire is also presenting with developmental delays and receiving therapy at the institute. It is possible that Claire too may have a genetic condition causing her delays as well.

Your donations will help cover the costs of transportation for my husband to fly here to see us and the expences of him missing work. They will also go towards some of the out of pocket living expenses we have here.
