The family of Noel Bard are uniting to raise money to help with his cancer battle. Please show your support!!

One may recognize Noel Bard from the Central Maine community. He graduated from Messalonskee High School, loves his dogs, enjoys camping, was employed by Sappi for many years and recently by KMD Driving School. Noel’s family includes his loving wife, Shannon, and his two children, Derek and Zoey. Whenever a lending hand is needed, Noel is there with no questions and will offer a laugh at the end. Just by viewing his support on Facebook through this difficult time, Noel has the comfort of his friends and family to aid him through  – just as he would for us in a heartbeat.

On July 20, 2012 the Bard family received news that all families pray not to hear. Noel was diagnosed with a terminal cancer found on his lungs. Noel battled kidney cancer in 2011 and after undergoing major surgery was later cleared cancer free in August. During his six month check up earlier this year, suspicious spots were discovered on Noel’s lungs. He underwent a biopsy in July to remove a section of his lung so the doctor’s could confirm the suspicious objects. Noel then visited the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care on July 20th and received the devastating news that the kidney cancer he battled in 2011 had metastasized to his lungs. With this information being distressing enough to Noel and his family - the doctor gave Noel a year to live.

The Bard family has not given up hope and is holding on to their faith. On July 31st, Noel will be visiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research in Boston. With these medical visits, treatment, and travel expenses adding up quickly, Zoey proactively formed the 5k Benefit Fundraiser that will take place at Anytime Fitness in Fairfield, Maine on August 25th at 8 am.

This website is an easy, efficient way to donate any amount one would like. Noel is in a battle for his life and financial stress should be the last thing on his mind. Every dollar counts and is truly appreciated from the very bottom of our hearts.

Please, believe in miracles and pray each and every day.
