The family and friends of Amanda Paige Bell are uniting to help raise money while she receives treatment for peritoneal mesothelioma.
Thank you for visiting this fundraising page for my beautiful and amazing sister, Amanda Paige Bell. On March 15th, 2012 during a routine c-section delivery of her 3rd daughter, Giavanna Jordan, the doctors
discovered a mass that led to the diagnosis of peritoneal mesothelioma cancer -a rare form of cancer that attacks the lining of the abdomen and is traced to asbestos exposure. Thankfully Amanda’s meso was caught early and the doctors say giving birth to Gia saved her life and was a God thing. Despite being absolutely shocked by the news, Amanda has decided to tackle this with
the same passion and energy she gives to all her endeavors and get on with life!
On April 30th Amanda and family flew to Washington, D.C. to meet with Dr. Paul Sugarbaker, one of the nation's innovators and authorities on the treatment of peritoneal meso, who has accepted Amanda under his
care. On June 12th, 2012 at Washington Mercy Medical Center Hospital Amanda will undergo an intensive 9 hour surgery: cytoreductive surgery involving removal of diseased tissues and organs and intra-abdominal
heated chemotherapy treatments - a 15 day hospital stay and 8 week recovery at home. Needless to say with travel expenses, and unexpected time off work for both Amanda and David during this time - this comes
with a large price tag and stress.
Many of you have asked how you can help during this overwhelming time and so we created this page to help raise funds that the Bell family can
use to help with these medical-related expenses (not covered by insurance) during the months of
Amanda’s surgery and recovery.
SO- if you are family, a friend, colleague or acquaintance who has been touched by Amanda’s fiery spirit and passion for life and are able to donate, we thank you. The Bell family appreciates your prayers and continued support- Amanda feels your BIG LOVE holding her up strong!
Please contact me or Traci (Amanda’s friend/coworker) if you need more information. I look forward to celebrating positive news of Amanda’s recovery with you!!!!
