The family of Vicki Jester is raising money to help her with her battle against Leiomyosarcoma, a rare and terminal cancer.

My mom, Vicki, 54 years old, was diagnosed in June 2011 with a rare, terminal cancer called Leiomyosarcoma. She has stage IV cancer and there was only one specialist within 200 miles that had studied this cancer before and she was located an hour away. In the past year, she has had to deal with a hysterectomy, fourteen blood transfusions, chemotherapy, radiation, hemoglobin shots, breathing problems, and countless hospital stays. The cancer has metastasized from the uterus to the bladder, lymph nodes, and both lungs. In February of 2012, we, Vicki and Jennifer (her daughter), had a sit down meeting, with the doctor, in which he told her that she had just months left. I, Jennifer, called MD Anderson asking about their clinical trial studies and they were hopeful about getting us down to Houston, until the insurance company turned us down. Most insurance companies, I found out, will not transfer you as a patient to another specialist if you are TERMINAL. That was hope for her that got shattered because of one little but BIG word. She has not given up and neither will we. I am hoping, with your help, we can alleviate some of her stress due to medical bills and future treatments. On behalf of our family, I would like to thank you in advance!
