A struggling college student trying to graduate, needs help with financial aid.

My name is Yolanda Barksdale, I am a college student in my last year of study. In order to graduate next may I need to take an excursion with my school that my financial aid will not pay for. Here are the details of the trip:

START PLANNING NOW

WINTER SESSION –Jan 8-15, 2012

We will visit: Havana, Bay of Pigs, Cienfuegos, Santa Clara & Trinidad

DATES: January 8 – January 15, 2012
WHERE: 4 nights in Havana, 3 nights in Trinidad
COST: approx. $2550 plus $628 for each 3 credit course taken

PO337 Seminar in Cuba: Politics of Modern Cuba, 1898 to present, 3 credits
Using reading and tours, students will study the political systems of Cuba since its independence from Spain. (Dr. Maffei)
Can be used for enriched core (cultural/global) or PoliSci major

Total cost includes round trip airfare from JFK (charter flight), all tours and guides, all hotels, and most meals.


BRING THE COMPLETED STUDENT APPLICATION AND non-refundable $300 DEPOSIT TO THE CENTER FOR STUDENT SUCCESS (2nd fl - Alumni Theatre) BY September 30, 12 PM TO SECURE YOUR PLACE. GROUP SIZE LIMITED TO 20 STUDENTS. FINAL PAYMENT DUE BY October 28.

I know i don't deserve your money, but I have something to prove to myself that I can graduate and meet and exceed my goals regardless of what my background is. I have learned that my background or where I come from do not define me and this is why I must excel because there's too many reasons for me not to.
