Elmo must complete his recovery with quality medical care to live the full and happy life that every black lab deserves!

Elmo is a 13 month old black lab that was adopted from the Richardson animal shelter. Since his adoption he has experienced medical concerns with his intestines and his ability to consume and digest food and drink. On Wednesday, April 6th, Elmo began showing signs of a severe pain and had difficulty breathing. We immediately rushed him to the emergency vet and within hours he was undergoing major surgery. Since his surgery he has had to spend night and day in either the emergency clinic or at his regular vets. He is fighting for his life. He had more than 60 sutures running the length of his tummy, has had 4 plasma transfusions and the same in blood. Inspite of the odds, and the pain, he is lifting his head, able to turn himself over and he even began walking today! His current medical expenses are in excess of $9500 and he is still in need of constant care. With continued quality medical care Elmo will get better, recover and go on to live a full and happy life! Unfortunatley the Emergency Clinic that treated him at the time of his vascular failure required payment upfront and now I am no longer able to afford my mortgage or other bills. I am a single parent and also foster a 16 year old pup that has grade 5 heart disease.
