The "Friends of Christine Beausoleil" is asking for your help. We are hoping to raise enough funds to make our home handicap accessible.

Christine is a 46 year old, beautiful mother of 2, who dedicated her life to caring for people. She graduated from Nursing School as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Christine injured her knee in 1999 while working in Florida. Since then, Christine has suffered with chronic pain, developing a disease called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. As the years went by, her condition has worsened and she has now lost her ability to walk. She has only been able to get around wth the use of a wheelchair. A handicap ramp will be needed immediately, as well as changes to the bathroom, floors and doors.

"Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy", also known as complex regional pain syndrome, is an unusual neurological disease in which the nervous system malfunctions after a traumatic event, such as an accident, a fall, surgery, or even after a minor injury such as a sprain. This malfunction causes pain that may seem severe compared to the original injury and may remain long after the injury has healed. Skin sensitivity, excessive sweating, numbness, and tingling may also occur with reflex sympathetic dystrophy. This condition is not understood well and is difficult to diagnose and treat.
