The family and friends of Linda Labriola are uniting to raise money to help with her battle against Breast Cancer.

It was in June of 1976 when I first met Linda, she was the sweetest, friendliest 5 year old I had ever encountered. I had just moved into the neighborhood and little did I know, Linda was in fact the Mayor of Wantagh. The little girl who would one day grow up to teach me lessons about humility, grace, mercy and forgiveness, that I am forever grateful for. She stole my heart on day one, and from that point on pretty much moved into my house. She grew up to be my children's best friend, their babysitter and a part of our family that there are no words to describe. She taught my children valuable life lessons, along with those valuable lessons came memorable ones. I will never forget the mustard on the front lawn and Linda locked in the bathrooom. Don't f**k with the babysitter was standard in my house. I would often come home from a night out and it would look like a train blew through my house, but in that mess there was peace because I knew that my children had the time of their lives when they were in her care. Most of us know Linda's story and her fight against cancer for the last year. While most people would let this fight consume them, linda continues to do the unthinkable by putting those less fortunate ahead of herself and her own needs. Linda fights the good fight, between Chemo, Radiation, Blood transfusions, biopsies, blood clots, and hormone therapy, she still finds the time in her life to reach out to all in need. Feeding the hungry, clothing the poor and doing everything without ever a selfish thought. I never met anyone in my life that works the way she does and has such a positive attitude. The source of her positivity is clear, Linda's reason for living, and her strength to fight all comes from her precious daughter Samantha. However medical expenses are adding up and Linda is due for two more surgeries this September, with a 8 week recovery time. Being a single Mom and being out of work for so long is not going to be easy. I'm hoping that today we can make that easier for her and Sammie. Linda will tell you herself that in spite of Cancer and all its heartache she is the luckiest girl in the world. She will tell you that she has amazing people surrounding her with love, and that is true wealth. She tells me often to smile life is good, it isn't always easy....and it doesn't seem fair but it is Good! I want to reach out to her family and friends and ask to join with me in showing Linda how good life can really be, she has never asked for anything from anyone, yet gives her heart, her time and her soul to anyone in need. Please help us ease her life a bit, to help her financially. Share this with everyone you know, You do not have to know someone to help change their lives, so pass it along. Together we can get Linda those 6 good numbers she's always dreamt about. I pray each day that her life would be healed and made complete, so I ask continued prayer for Linda, please consider donating, Lets do what we can and Let God do the rest! Breast Cancer has the ability to instill fear, and take away life, it leaves many depressed in the aftermath. Linda however has shown us all there is Grace, beauty and pure joy when you are truly living. Linda lives everyday by giving, it is time now to give back. Linda, smile because you are so loved and respected, you will always be our Home Coming Queen.
