There are many things Hannah can do with some support. Very expensive equipment will change the possibilities of her life. Help if you can.

Hannah lives with Retts Syndrome. This syndrome is the result of a mutation of the x chromosome. There are many neurological symptoms that result. My neice Hannah is in elementary school and this is the perfect age for doing things which will strengthen her physical and cognitive potential. Unfortuntaely, the equipment that would be most beneficial is cost prohibitive for one family. Educational services and insurance will not help. If you have ever been grateful that your body held itself up without much effort or if you ever took for granted your ability to communicate things as simple as "I love you" or "I want blueberries" or if you ever wondered how young children with so many challenges find reasons to smile, then you might enjoy becomming part of the effort to help Hannah do things that are easy for most of us.

Hannah courageously faces medical challenges, educational challenges, and communication challenges with the most cheerful of hearts. She is prayed for continuously and we have seen many miracles in her short life.

There are two main pieces of equipment that I would like this fundraiser to make possible. A therasuit is being used with children who have cerebral palsy. Resaerch indicates that therapy using this suit strengthens the functioning of the children's bodies. They won't sell you the suit unless you go through training on how to use the suit therapeutically.

Secondly, we would love to get a computer device with hardware and software for Hannah to use to develop communication and cognitive skills. There are a variety of these on the market. Hannah has tried a system out on loan and we found it to be very engaging for her. We know that the development communicative abilities contributes to cognitive health. We would like to be able to shop around for the system that best suits Hannah's needs.
