In March 2010, our friend Tina was diagnosed with Stage 2 brain cancer. She has been an optimistic patient but the bills are piling up for surgery, copays, & lots of medications. Help Tina beat cancer without worrying about how to pay for life.

In late March 2010, our friend Tina wasn't feeling too well and headed to the doctor's office. One well-timed seizure and a battery of tests later, she was being prepped for brain surgery. They found a gigantic, slow growing tumor on her brain and life hasn't been the same since.

Tina is a lucky woman -- she is surrounded by family, friends, and a husband and daughter who love her to pieces. She's lucky with her cancer, too. It's slow-growing and isn't expected to be terminal. Unfortunately, this also means it's an extremely expensive addition to the family.

* Surgery itself was more than the cost of a four year education at Harvard. Insurance won't cover it all.
* Daily co-pays for all of the doctor's visits and prescriptions add up to thousands of dollars per month.
* A second opinion on a course of treatment requires a $1,000 down payment just to be seen by a doctor for 15 minutes.

Just before her diagnosis, Tina had gotten a new job at the State of Colorado. She hadn't been employed there long enough, though, to accrue sick time. Her husband works for the University of Colorado and they live extremely frugally, with health insurance, but the medical bills keep arriving and the savings are all gone.

Tina is going to live through this for her baby, Miah. Miah is two and she's a momma's girl! As Tina's friends, we want to help save Tina's life but also save Miah's -- by keeping her mom around and healthy, and ensuring that there's some money left over in the paychecks to properly care for Miah, your donations will save two lives.

Anything you can give will help tremendously. In one night at a bar, we raised $1,000 in donations from dollars thrown in a can by party-goers. Every little bit counts and it will all add up.

Please give what you can. And if you can't, please keep the email forwarding to friends of friends of friends of friends of friends. Even small efforts will make a huge difference in the life of a mom and a very loving little girl.
