The family and friends of Aaron Boyd are uniting to raise money to help with his battle against cancer. Please show your support!

Cancer is a scary word, especially when it effects someone you love.

In January, Aaron Boyd began experiencing pain in his hip. The pain intensified and by April Aaron was using a wheelchair to get around.

Doctors discovered a rapidly growing tumor and in May, Aaron was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. In June, Aaron began chemotherapy treatments and quickly gained some much needed relief from his hip pain.

Aaron will soon undergo a PET scan to determine how many more chemo treatments he will need. Once the chemo treatments are complete, he will then undergo radiation.

Unfortunately, because the chemo suppresses Aaron’s immune system his doctor advised that he not go back to work until his chemo treatment is complete.

Aaron is a Special Education teacher at an elementary school and his doctor feels that him being around so many children posses too great a risk for infection.

The earliest Aaron will return to work is October 1. During this time, he is not receiving a paycheck and he needs help. The school system is not providing short term disability and he has used all of his sick leave. In addition, his insurance will not cover all the expenses of the cancer treatments.

We don't know what the total expenses will be - but we want to get something started to alleviate the stress on Aaron so that he can focus all of his energy and strength on recovery! The money donated will be used to pay for medical expenses and to help with daily living expenses.

There is a savings account set up for those of you who would like to mail contributions to Aaron's medical costs; otherwise, you can contribute using this site!

Thank you again for your prayers and for considering this opportunity to support Aaron. We truly believe each prayer is heard and they are making a difference.

Please spread the word to anyone and everyone you think may be interested in helping Aaron kick cancer! Every little bit helps!
