My family has given up a lot for Emily so now I would like to ask you to help them just a little.

Emily was born with a lack of intestinal motility, and given a year life expectancy. She had an ostomy bag until she was 15. She's lived a good portion of her life in the hospital and was revived 7 times. She lived off of I.V. fluids and a feeding tube. On September 2005 she received an intestinal transplant, she did very well for 4 years but then she rejected the organ. We almost lost her! The doctors wanted to remove the transplanted organ but Emily insisted it was going to be okay. She spent 10 months trying to recover and she did! She was able to have her ostomy take down in 2011 just before she turned 15. She continued to struggle and lost about 20lbs down to 78lbs on her 5'1" frame. In October of 2011 she rejected again and had to take a very strong medication to stop the rejection. In December just before Christmas that medication caused Emily to get Lymphoma cancer. She under went 2 rounds of Chemotherapy her hair started to fall out just on the top of her head. She was able to come home for a few days at Christmas and asked her sister to shave her head and proudly displayed her baldness. Emily's life is estimated to be a constant struggle. My mom is unable to work because she has to take care of Emily. There are a lot of expences that need to be covered between the gas going back and forth to the hospital in Washington DC which is 3 hours away and food. It is a constant financial struggle for my parents. My family has given up a lot for Emily so now I would like to ask you to help them just a little.
