Our English Mastiff, Dante, needs a toe surgery. It may sound like a small thing, but it is a lifesaving surgery.

My name is Mindi Davidson. My husband and I own two English Mastiffs that we adopted from the Friends of Rescued Mastiffs. For several years we volunteered with the rescue, fostering, transporting and caring for these wonderful dogs.
When we worked with the rescue, we fostered Dante briefly. He then found a home and off he went to live with his family. Unfortunately, his family became too busy to train him or spend time with him so Dante came back into the rescue. We felt so strongly that he couldn'd go to another home (his 4th in 2 years) so we decided to adopt him.
We now find ourselves on the other end needing assistance with our dogs. Over the last year, our dogs have required a tremendous amount of medical care. Our boy mastiff Dante, needed to have a toe removed and required an extensive amount of treatment prior to the decision to remove his toe. Our female Mastiff, Harley, had a lens luxation and had to have her right eye removed. Because Harley’s condition is genetic, probably being from a puppy mill, she needs expensive daily medication to her remaining eye to hopefully prolong her vision. We are told eventually her left eye will also succumb to her genetic condition. Over the last year we have spent over $9,000 in veterinary bills and we are afraid we have another huge cost coming our way. Last week we took Dante to the vet because his foot was swollen. It appears to be from the same unknown cause of his last toe problem. This will most likely result in amputation of an additional toe. We have maxed out all of our resources.
We strongly believe in forever homes and want to keep these important members of our family. We are hardworking people but our resources have been stretched to the limits. All money raised will go directly to Dantes surgery and care.
Can you help us keep this wonderful animal happy and healthy?
