Life with ALS: let’s make Jeff’s journey worthwhile!

In October of 2010, at the age of 40, Jeff was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, which is commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease. There is no known cure for ALS, so when this terminal diagnosis was pronounced, it sent shock-waves through our family and launched us all into a state of shock and grief.

Nearly two years later, Jeff is completely paralyzed except for movement in his neck and the ability to control his electric wheelchair. His capacity to speak and eat are also declining. Thus, Jeff's days are rather simple-- most are spent enjoying his backyard or visiting with friends and family.

Jeff's journey with ALS has been challenging, but he is looking forward to the summer ahead and has one simple wish: to go camping with his Dad, brother and friends on their annual camping trip to Antelope, CA. Jeff has always been an outdoorsman, and nothing would give him greater pleasure than to visit this outdoor playground again this year.

We humbly ask that you would consider contributing to this fund. Through your generosity we will be able to offset the increasing medical expenses, and pay for the equipment and medical staffing that would be necessary to make Jeff’s camping wish a reality. Whatever is on your heart to contribute, we thank you deeply.

If you would like to send a card to Jeff, he can be reached at 2579 Sierra Road, San Jose, CA 95132. To get regular reports about Jeff's condition, contact Blythe Klipple at or via Facebook and she will add you to the "Jeff's Journey" list.

In deepest gratitude,
Jeff's family
