The Family of Devoy Boyd is raising funds to assist him with his MEDICAL expenses while he is battling kidney failure. Thank You!

UPDATED 7/15. The best option was for Devoy to go to a long-term acute care hospital. He will be there for at least 5 more weeks. We want to raise these funds to help him move into a bigger place. He has been living in his apartment for 7 years but he really needs a fresh start and a bigger place. Please help if you can.
Devoy became a paraplegic at the young age of 17 when he was shot in the back during a drive-by. For the last 17 years he has been battling various health conditions as a result of his spinal injury. Through all of this Devoy has continued to be an inspiration to teens through his work as a Violence Prevention Coordinator at Schwabb Rehab Hospital in Chicago. He is also an incredible actor, artist, public speaker and musician. Devoy has won awards for his work from the Mayor's office and has been featured on a number of news stories including Judge Hatchet and 60 minutes.

We have all witnessed Devoy's fight and courage over the years. This time, things are very severe, enough for my cousin to express his nervousness which he has never done so I know what that means. We want so much for him to get through this. He is finally with the love of his life. Jennifer is always by his side through everything. Your donations would do so much to relieve her stress as she is trying to stay with him at the hospital. Before the breathing tube went in he asked not to be left alone. Jennifer continues to work as an Early Childhood Teacher while his mom and sister come to the hospital.

Thank you to everyone that makes a donation and sends out a prayer. Devoy is so loved by his family and friends. If you've ever met him you know his charisma is bigger than life.

If you prefer to write a check, please mail it to Devoy Boyd at 2600 S. King Dr, #107 Chicago IL 60616.

Peace and Blessings,
