The family of Shoshana Ortalia are asking for your support in our time of grieving.

Greetings Dear Ones,

On Monday, February 13, 2012 at 5:35 P.M. central time, after a peaceful day, Shoshana Ortalia Aurora Rogers made her transition in the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care Center.

I, Maitreya, one of her closest friends, was present when she passed and I am guided to share my observations of those final moments. Earlier in the day, Shoshana had become non-responsive and as I sat near the foot of her bed I felt called to play a particular piece of music titled: Ascension by Clifford White. We had played this music often over the years and Ortalia always connected it with Archangel Michael. Two times during the last 10-days or so she had seen Archangel Michael at the foot of her bed. I was present one of those time and she commented on how beautiful he was. About 15 minutes into the music, from the corner of my eye, I saw her left foot bounce as if she was attempting to get my attention. I looked up from my computer and saw her mouth moving. I rose and put a wet sponge to her lips and as I did, her face began to relax, her mouth began to smile, and her eyes, which had been closed since my arrival, gently opened wide. She began to move her arms and hands to her solar plexus and I supported her in doing so. Her labored breath became regular in that moment and as she gently inhaled, then exhaled, her eyes softly closed. She did not inhale again. I placed my right hand on her heart, sat in the chair, and wept. The smile beamed on her face for about 10 minutes and for almost an hour following her last breath her appearance was that of someone youthful and someone that had known no pain.

As most of you already know, Shoshana Ortalia requested there be no memorial service for her, but rather if you feel so called, you may gather in small, simple groups in honor of her.

Instead of sending flowers or investing in airfare to attend a memorial, Ortalia requested people contribute to this fund, which she helped to create, as she and her family incurred various bills: personal care, airplane & travel expenses, time out from work, et cetera. Your support in our time of grieving to alleviate some of this financial stress is very much appreciated.

Should you feel called to support in other ways, Ortalia suggested you plant a tree in her name to support our Earth Mother, who, along with G-d, she valued most of all. We also encourage you to share this Give Forward site with others.

In conclusion I will say: up until midday Saturday, February 10, Shoshana was still asking ChrisitElla and myself to read her the Hugs and Donors pages from all of you that contributed. We also read her the emails and Facebook posts that had come in to that point. On Sunday, February 11, she said very little. The last thing she whispered to me personally was, “thank you”. And the last word I heard her whispering over and over in mantra-like fashion was, “G-d, G-d, G-d, G-d, ...” For weeks we watched our friend and loved-one endure more suffering than could be imagined and she never gave up believing that G-d loved her, not once.

We would like thank each of you for being a part of Shoshana Ortalia’s life and also a part of her passing. We thank you for your generosity of spirit as shown through your continued prayers, healing energy, visits to hospice, hugs, financial contributions, caring phone calls, and loving emails & posts. I can say with absolute certainty that before Shoshana passed, she recalled her love for all of us, she surrendered Mother Earth to our care, she forgave herself, and as she took Archangel Michael’s hand, with the biggest smile on her face, she SOARed into the LIGHT.

To each of you who were touched by her life, we are sorry for your loss and grateful you are in our lives.

Blessings and Love, Odetta, Michal, ChristiElla, and Maitreya.

Ps. Upon her request, a portion of all proceeds generated will go to the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care Center to purchase healing essential oils and aromatherapy diffusers.
