The family of Jason Babbitt are uniting to raise money to help with his battle against brain cancer.

Jason was diagnosed with Milignant Glioblastoma Multiforme (brain cancer) in May of 2002. Soon after he was diagnosed radiation was introduced into Jason’s treatment to minimize the tumor, however eventually the radiation treatments were discontinued, due to the fact that Jason’s brain had taken the maximum capacity of radiation that any brain could handle. In February of 2003, a softball sized tumor was removed from Jason’s brain. But much to our dismay, one month later, March 2003 the tumor had grown back but bigger. Temodar (the pill form of chemotherapy) was then introduced into Jason’s treatment. He took Temador from 2003 – 2008. In 2008 it was determined that the tumor was stable (not growing), so the Temodar was discontinued to let his body rest. Again, much to our dismay, in May of 2009, the tumor came back full force. Once more surgery was conducted to determine the intensity of the tumor. Temodar was reintroduced into Jason’s treatment. But this time the Temodar wasn’t working. It was decided to start intravenous chemotherapy. However last week we received the devastating news that all treatments would be discontinued and the prognosis for which is now stage 4 cancer is not good. The tumor has now spread to the front lobe of the brain and the opposite side it had originated. Jason has right side paralysis and his speech is severely impaired. He’s losing motor skills rapidly. However we pray that he will beat the odds, and grateful for each day we’re given.
Jason is only 36 yrs. Old. At the tender age of 27 he was diagnosed with brain cancer. He’s never been married and doesn’t have children and probably never will. He managed to obtain employment up until December 2010. Do to the frequency and treatments of this disease he’s unable to work. He applied for SSI (Social Security Disability) and it was granted. But as we all know SSI benefits bring in a small monthly income. Jason also has medical insurance that he independently pays for out of his SSI. This 9 year battle has drained their family not only mentally and physically but financially as well. Jason is in the battle of his life. We can’t change this disease, but we can change how we fight it. Thank you all for your donations, support but more importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and pray for one each day.
