Help fund YouSpoke.org's first fundraiser in an effort to raise suicide awareness and promote creative projects in Chicagoland!

In December of 2006, Stefanie Cary lost her father to suicide. Two years later, she started a nonprofit, YouSpoke.org in his honor.

YouSpoke.org is a nonprofit that cultivates a community for those deeply affected by suicide by offering them a creative outlet to share their story. Through every form of art—prose, film and video, music, dance, graphic design, painting and visual arts, culinary, interactive media, sculpture, poetry, textile, YouSpoke.org promotes suicide awareness through the profound exchange of stories from survivors.

The societal stigma that often surrounds the darkest realms of suicide and mental illness create communicative barriers that are inexcusable, antiquated and destructive, and YouSpoke wants to break them down. As we begin to cultivate an online art collective focused on open source communal healing, we also strive to expand into a physical space and establish a museum.

On Sunday, June 12th, YouSpoke.org will be holding a dance and art show entitled, "Welcome Home." This will be a celebratory night of music, dance, spoken poetry, artwork, and videos--all with healing and suicide awareness in mind. YouSpoke is looking to raise money to help pay for this fundraiser as well as 501(c)3 (tax exempt) status.

Contribute to the cause and help us fund this unique project!
