6 year old Lidija needs your help. Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD) with gastrointestinal and renal involvement could kill her.
Six year old Lidija is a beautiful and sweet girl, who is loved by many. Two doctors have diagnosed her with Mast Cell Activation Disorder with gastrointestinal and renal involvement. She requires a special diet of a formula called, Neocate Junior, which is costing her family $35/day. They are also trying to have their daughter seen at NIH, Baylor or Mayo for medical treatment. Please do what you can and especially forward this message to anyone you know who may be willing to help.
Update, 11 Jan 2013, from Mike & Vivian Westfall:
We are very grateful for all of the help and support. It encourages us greatly. Lidija wants to know what is happening with the page, we read the HUGS together and she gets really excited. When I tell her a donation came in, she asks, "someone wants to help me?"
She has reacted to the new label Neocate, so our hunt has been on for old label Neocate until the company that makes it can figure out what is wrong and fixes it. We have been using the donations to scour everywhere to find it. The Neocate we need has to be manufactured BEFORE May 2012 and starts expiring in summer.
We are on a timeline to have answers for Lidija or for the company to fix their product. She simply does not tolerate anything else. NOTHING else is an option.
Things were tough before, but we had not had it hit us that there is literally NOTHING else and it is ONE company that makes the product keeping her alive.
We do not know what it will take. We do not know from where the answers will come. We do know we need to keep trying and we need to try right NOW. Your support has given us options to go looking for help and to find the formula she needs to live. Thank you all very much.
