The family and friends of Katie McGloin-Lindsay are raising money that will be used for medical costs and other related expenses.

In May 2011, 32 year-old Katie McGloin-Lindsay was diagnosed with a brain tumor, a level 2 glioma. She completed a full round of chemotherapy and radiation during the summer at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Throughout all her treatments, medications and side effects, Katie continued to be a wonderful, dedicated and loving mother to her two young sons, who were aged three years old and four months old, when she was initially diagnosed. Katie has fought hard, maintained a positive outlook and been very brave in her battle. Katie was back to working full-time as a Physical Therapist by October 2011 and living her life to the fullest.

Seven weeks ago, on April 7th, 2012, Katie was admitted to Memorial Sloan Kettering. After extensive testing and another biopsy of the brain, Katie was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 3 astrocytoma, a type of glioma. Katie received radiation treatments for several weeks, while remaining as an inpatient at the hospital.

Last week Katie ceased treatments and returned home to her children, husband, family and friends. Katie is currently receiving hospice services and needs assistance with medical care, as well as various expenses that are not covered by her insurance. Katie has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support and offers to help. At this time there is a way that you can help. Please donate to Katie to assist with these expenses- any help is welcomed and appreciated. If you would like to donate by using a check, please email adayforkatie@gmail.com and we’ll provide her address.

Please continue to keep Katie in your thoughts and prayers. Your cards, Facebook posts and messages help keep Katie’s spirits up, as well as pass long hours as she is regaining her strength!!

Sincerely,
Friends of Katie
