The family and friends of Mason Goché are uniting to raise money to help defray the medical costs of Multiple Sclerosis.

My beloved little brother Mason has just been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Mason is 26, studying to become an engineer, and without medical insurance. Not only is he smart and creative, but he is also one of the funniest people I know, and I hope that you will help me help him.

Mason needs your help now. In most cases, if MS patients get treatment promptly and regularly, they can live normal, mostly unaffected lives.
The cost is astronomical though. Just the cost for medication runs from $2,000-$3,000 a month. In addition, Mason qualifies for the newly created Federal High Risk Insurance Pool, a fairly comprehensive medical insurance plan created due to the new federal health regulations. But it costs $350 per month.

Before Mason can begin treatment, he must have insurance. Because his MS is progressing quickly, he cannot work. He needs everyone to help him pay these bills, so he can get the treatment he needs.

With everyone pitching in what they can, we can raise enough money to cover Mason's insurance costs for one year. At that time, he may have his symptoms under control and can go to work -- or he will qualify for a federal subsidy that will go into effect in 2014 to help defray premium costs.

With the help of family, friends, strangers and YOU, We reached our $5000 goal in a WEEK. We are so incredibly grateful and appreciative of your already overwhelming support. I'm so impressed and have such faith in everyone on Team Mason that I think we can help Mason get to the next goal. So I've raised the goal to $10,000. There are three reasons for doing this:
1. I have no doubt that we can accomplish this goal.
2. The extra money will help pay for the over $2000 in medical bills that Mason has already racked up by going to the emergency room and getting an MRI.
3. Even with the insurance the initial tests and will still rack up a fair amount of bills in this initial year.

So spread the word and help get the word spread. A million and one thank yous!

Any contribution would help. Thank you all so much for your help.
