Helping Hands for Michael E Walker

Monies raised will be spent on housing, medical expenses and transportation  for Michael.

Michael is undergoing chemo and radiation for a grade 4 brain tumor (Glioblastoma Multiforme) cancer.

Per his physicians he is no longer able to drive or work due to seizures.

Can you donate to help with medical, housing, and transportation expenses for Michael?
Glioblastoma multiforme (grade IV astrocytoma) is the most common and most malignant of the primary brain tumors. Glioblastoma multiforme usually spreads quickly to other parts of the brain. For this reason, these tumors are difficult to treat. It is not uncommon for them to recur after initial treatment.

Although this tumor can occur in all age groups, including children, the average age at which it is diagnosed is 55 years. Symptoms often begin abruptly. Seizures are also relatively common.

The treatment for GBM is limited at this time. Total resection is often not a possibility because while the tumor appears to be well demarcated within brain parenchyma, the tumor is often widely extensive along white-matter tracts extending beyond the enhancing tumor margins. Current treatment for all high grade astocytoma's involves cytoreduction through surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. However, the median survival for glioblastoma remains approximately 10 months.   See photos.
