The family and friends of Jen are working together to raise money for spinal surgery in order to improve her quality of life.

Jen is a loving and kind woman. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis several years ago. Since then she has been diagnosed with several life altering, chronic conditions and a Tarlov Cyst located in the lumbar sacral region of her spine. She has tried many treatments for her Rheumatoid Arthritis to no avail.

The Tarlov Cyst is symptomatic and has caused many additional complications including back, hip, leg, abdominal and foot pain, difficulty walking, pain when sitting, difficulty emptying her bladder and much more. The treatment for the cyst is difficult. The cyst is located in the lumbar sacral area - and consists of fluid that is building up within the nerve fibers in the spine. The nerves are then affected by this pressure resulting in her symptoms.

There are few physicians willing to work with this condition. There are none in Arizona that take the state aid she receives. The only physician providing treatment for this condition near her home is located in Kansas City, Missouri. In order to have this treated, she and a loved one would need to travel to Kansas City, stay in a hotel for about two weeks and undergo the surgery. It is a delicate surgery and her cyst is getting larger and causing more complications as each day passes.

Our sincere hope is that this surgery will help to improve her quality of life and reduce her pain.

She will always have to fight the Rheumatoid Arthritis and her other conditions. We hope and pray that this surgery will give her a part of her life back.

Thank you for visiting.

I want to thank those lovely friends who have already donated and been so incredibly generous. You are always in my heart and I am forever grateful for knowing you for so many years. Thank you so much.

Update: April 15, 2012 - Jen has started treatment for her Rheumatoid Arthritis. Unfortunately, we fear she contracted Valley fever after her first treatment. She has discontinued the treatments in the hopes of healing and empowering her immune system.

Update: June 26, 2012 - Jen experience kidney problems over a week ago. She underwent surgery to remove 6 kidney stones and insert a stent. She had trouble with pain control and was admitted to the hospital with extreme pain, a bladder infection and a failing kidney. It feels like it's been forever, but she's now home and working on recovery. It's a slow and frustrating process, but we hope to get her back to her "normal" soon. Thank you again to all who have offered prayers and support.
