Raising money to help an awesome person fight her Pancreatic Cancer. This money will be used to purchase medications, provide gas to get to local appointments as well as Dr. appointments in Seatlle, WA.

Thanks for visiting our fundraiser. We are raising money to help our dear friend Rhonna Cowan Sweeney fight her  pancreatic cancer.

In February 2010 Rhonna was told that she has Pancreatic Cancer. She was originally told that she needed to have her gall bladder removed and that the pain she was feeling was a gall stone that was blocking the duct. Several procedures later she was sent from Missoula, Montana to Seatlle Washington's Virginia Mason hospital for even more procedures. It was their that she learned that she had pancreatic cancer. She has chemo weekly and is taking many different medications in effort to control pain and stop the cancer from growing and spreading.

The money raised in this fundraiser will help her pay for the medications, get to and from her local Dr. appointment and travel from Montana to Washington for other Dr. appointments at Virginia Mason hospital. It will go toward helping pay the medical bills that are sure to start adding up.

Rhonna has been an awesome friend to me and my family for several years. When I was away she would shovel the snow from my sidewalks and check on my home regularly. When we fell on hard times and I couldn't afford gas in the car she would drive me around to run my errands. When things we really bad she would take me to the food bank and stand in line with me so I wouldn't have to be their alone. She gives and gives and never asks for anything. She not only gives to me but to others as well. She is the best friend a person could ask for.

Before becomming sick and even now that she is sick, she is always helping others when she can. She has an awesome husband she has been with for 17+ years. She has a daughter other parents would be thrilled to have, who is 25 years old. Rhonna has worked for the same place for 24 years and is very special to her clients and co-workers. She has a wonderful  family that is very supportive and can often be found in the waiting room while she is having one procedure or another or sitting in the chair next to her while she gets her chemo treatment.

Sinced being diagnoised with cancer she has continued to go to work even when in pain. There have been days when she has been forced to go home because the medication makes her unable to function. I just can't describe how special this woman is. I personally know that I will never find another friend like her.

Any and all donations will help her pay for the medications, pay expenses to go to and from the doctors office and chemo appointments and allow her to feel more secure and focus just on fighting her cancer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to view our fundraiser and please donate if you can. Even a dollar will help.

On 4/23/2010 Rhonna learned that her Chemotherapy treatments are working. Her cancer cell count which was 259 when she first began treatment has dropped to 137. She will have a CAT scan this week to see if the tumor has shrank. If it has then is may be possible that she will then be able to have it removed surgically. Even if you are unable to donate please keep her in your prayers.
