Fundraiser to assist me in making gift baskets for children battling childhood cancer - bringing them cheer and courage!

This is a personal fundraiser to assist me in making gift baskets for children receiving treatment for childhood cancer. Cooper and I deliver these baskets to both the hospital and clinic at Children's Healthcare.

Our story:

Our 3-year old son, Cooper, was diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney cancer in December of 2010. Our family began a journey that no one wants to go through. Along the way, we met and were touched by countless children battling various forms of the awful disease we call "Cancer". We saw the need for ongoing encouragement through these lengthy illnesses.

I wanted to help in some way. I have always loved to make gift baskets for my family and friends. Now I have made it my mission to brings smiles and encouragement through these gift baskets to children battling pediactric cancer. They are cheerful and lift the spirits of the kids by letting them know that someone is thinking of them. They also serve as a diversion from the daily routines of chemotherapy, radiation, and illness.

I am asking for your support. Your contributions will help us deliver beautiful Easter baskets to children in the Atlanta area receiving cancer treatment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Our goal is to provide 100 Easter baskets this year - a basket to each in-patient child, and to the ones receiving outpatient chemotherapy at the Aflac clinic at Scottish Rite. There are 20 in-patient rooms at the hospital. According to one of the Child-Life-Specialists, there are between 60 to 80 kids PER DAY who receive treatment at the Scottish Rite clinic. That is ONE clinic at one hospital in one location! Can you imagine?

Last December, we were blessed to be able to provide 43 gift baskets for the kids. How many can we do with your help? With a donation of $10 - you can know that you are bringing a smile to the face of a child battling a life-threatening illness.

I put each basket together, and they are all unique. They will include candy, activities, stuffed animals, etc. Thank you for your support!

Warm Regards,
Michelle Allen
