The family and friends of Michael Stolfi are uniting to raise money to help with his fight against brain cancer. Please show your support.

Our fundraiser is in its final stretch! This Saturday, November 17 is Michael's 36th birthday. It is also the last day of our current GiveForward fundraising campaign and we are so close to our goal! In honor of his birthday on the 17th, we are asking that if you can, simply donate $17 to the campaign. And because it can't be said enough -- Thank you to everyone for your donations! We are so grateful and astounded at the level of support and love we've received.

On Thursday, July 5, 2012 Michael Stolfi was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Astrocytoma brain tumor. Ten days prior, when Michael went to work at Oregon Health Science University Hospital, he was suddenly confused and unaware of his surroundings. Following a trip down to the ER, within 24 hours he would discover he had a mass in his brain and undergo major cranial surgery. While doctors were able to remove a portion of the tumor in surgery, the biopsy results showed that the tumor was malignant and advanced. He is now in another unfamiliar place, a place where life alone has to be fought for each day.

Michael and his amazing wife Margo are battling this thing with everything they have. They both possess a strong light that touches everyone they meet, and will not let that light be shadowed. We as friends and family are here to lift them up and help them continue to be a powerful positive force in this world.

Family and friends have also had the pleasure of watching Michael and Margo raise an even brighter light in the world, their 20 month old daughter Coralyn. We want to make sure that Michael gets every treatment possible so that he may get to live and experience all the milestones in her life in addition to his own. We may all want to spoil Cora with many things, but above all we want to spoil her with time with her father.

Fortunately, Michael is currently in wonderful hands at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He recently underwent a second surgery, at which time more of the tumor was able to be removed. However, with the pathology reports post surgery coming back as a Grade 4, the highest grade signifying very aggressive and malignant cells, Michael will be quickly be undergoing both chemo and radiation September 4 - October 15. These and future treatments will require expensive travel, including almost two months in Houston for the current round of chemo and radiation, extended hospital stays, and are bound to take a physical, emotional, and financial toll. Donations will go towards medical treatments and associated costs. Help us raise money to assist Michael and Margo financially, so they can make decisions based on strength of determination and concentrate on the joys of life, and not the cost of it.

We are working to reach our goal by November 17, Michael's 36th birthday, and give him the gift of life. Above all, thank you to everyone for their encouragement, support, positive energy, inspiration, and mostly your love.
