Help Travis Attend a Four Week Residential Program At Stanford University!

Hello, my name is Travis McKay, son of Mark and Lisa McKay.

I have been invited to attend the EPGY (Education Program for the Gifted Youth) at Stanford University. This is a four week residential program that will allow me to explore various areas in engineering, more specifically dealing with technology. I will partake in engineering courses with professors who teach for the college. This great opportunity that I want to take advantage of has a huge cost behind it. I know with your contribution and support, my future looks promising.

If you wish to learn more about who I am, please continue to read.

I am currently a sophomore at Wakefield High School in Raleigh, NC. I plan on attending the North Carolina School of Science and Math (NCSSM) next year. This residential school specializes in math and science. I, currently, have a 4.5 GPA and rank 4th out of 573 students at Wakefield High School. I enjoy playing soccer both for the school and out of the school. I also volunteer in the community. Playing the saxophone is one of my hobbies, and I also play in the school band.

My interests are in science and math. Technology is what fascinates me the most. I currently attend NC-MSEN PCP (North Carolina Math and Science Education Network Pre College Program) where STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) is emphasized. I like this program because of its exposure to the science and math that you may not receive at a regular school.

Stanford University is my top college choice. It is a prestigious school, consistently ranked in the top ten colleges in the nation. Stanford has a notable engineering program. I plan on becoming a computer engineer because I want to be the mind behind our future's ground-breaking technology.

Thank you for taking the time to read. I plan to keep you informed of any accolades that come my way through this website, so visit often and please share with others. Your support and contributions will be gladly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Travis J. McKay
