I am a childhood cancer survivor. When I was 14 I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and had to undergo surgery and chemotherapy. After having been taken care of by all of my nurses and doctors, I decided that I want to help make a difference as well.

I'm currently trying to go to school for nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Phoenix, AZ. Although my parents are trying to help me as much as they can, they have been hit hard by the economy and they are struggling as well. Since they own their own business, on paper it looks like they make too much money for me to qualify for financial aid. when in reality they are struggling to stay afloat just like many other smaller businesses are out here in Arizona. I'm just trying to raise half of what my tuition is for each trimester ($6,000 and my schooling is year round so it equals out to being $18,000 a year) If I go full time and take the maximum credits possible I will be done in about 2.5 years. I truly believe that I only survived my cancer because of the great people I had surrounding me and helping me through everything: My family, my friends and my nurses. I want to give back and help others through their tough times and help them to see that they can make it through just like I did and that the people they surround themselves with are going to make all the difference in the world. Please help me make a difference in the world and help me through school, who knows, maybe one day I'll be your nurse!
